Newburyport Police Department
Community Oriented Policing Program - HELPS
.

Helps Every Lost Person to Safety
(HELPS)

The Newburyport Police Department in partnership with the Council on Aging has begun a program called H.E.L.P.S. (Helps Every Lost Person To Safety). The program involves the taking of photographs along with emergency information of persons that wander or become lost due to medical conditions or illness. This information will then be placed in a database at the police station. In the event that someone becomes lost or is found wandering, officers will have the information necessary to reunite these persons with family.

The Council on Aging and the Police Department urge family and friends of persons that wander or become lost due to illness or medical problems to call the Council on Aging at (978) 462-8650 to set up an appointment at your home to have these photos taken and information recorded.
